- — Under-13 users need a parent. Parents are the account holder.
- — Don't use Veramio to verify someone else's writing as your own. That'd defeat the point.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a Veramio account or using the Veramio add-in, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must agree on your behalf.
2. Description of Service
Veramio is a writing provenance service that captures document edit history and generates cryptographically verified Writing Reports. The service is provided via add-ins for Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
3. Accounts and Eligibility
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Users under 13 require a parent account and parental consent. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
4. Your Content
You retain all rights to the writing you create. By using Veramio, you grant us a limited license to process and store your document content solely for the purpose of generating your Writing Reports. We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties.
5. Acceptable Use
You may not use Veramio to:
- Misrepresent the authorship of another person's writing
- Generate fraudulent Writing Reports
- Circumvent or attempt to reverse-engineer our verification system
- Use the service in violation of any applicable law
6. Billing and Refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Annual subscriptions are non-refundable after 14 days. Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
7. Limitation of Liability
Veramio provides writing evidence, not legal proof. We are not responsible for how institutions or individuals interpret or act upon Writing Reports. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to fees paid in the 12 months preceding any claim.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
9. SMS Communications
Veramio may send SMS (text message) notifications to parent or guardian accounts on eligible paid plans. SMS notifications are off by default and require explicit opt-in through Account → Notification Preferences in the dashboard.
- By providing your mobile phone number and enabling SMS notifications, you consent to receive transactional text messages from Veramio at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
- Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on student activity.
- Reply STOP to any Veramio message to opt out. Reply HELP for assistance.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
